That Yorica! Moment

Ever dreamed of that moment you pass a 100% vegan ice cream parlour? Dreams have become reality my friends! Today I tried out Yorica! Situated in Soho, a fully vegan and gluten free ice cream parlour that sells Froyo, smoothies, milkshakes and of course, ice cream! With a range of toppings to choose from it definitely left me indecisive for a good ten minutes… (Apologies to the people waiting behind me)

Froyo flavours include Mellow matcha, chocolate, strawberry and Madagascan vanilla. 12 flavours of Ice creams range from cookies and cream to beetroot, dark chocolate, morninga and nut-free peanutbutter! Then come the toppings.. Go healthy with mango, raspberries, goji berries, pomegranate, blueberries or strawberries. Otherwise just go all out with Oreos, gummy bears, choc chips, cookies, dates, marshmallows and more.

They stay clear of the 14 main allergens, including wheat, gluten, dairy, lactose, eggs, nuts, GMO and artificial sweeteners, while their entire menu is completely plant based! *animal cheer*🐮

So what is this ingenious creamy goodness made from you ask? It has been carefully created using rice milk and coconut cream whilst the thickener is seaweed (it doesn’t taste seaweed-y at all!) or guar gum.

I love the atmosphere in the parlour. Everyone was super friendly and the hippie quotes dotted around the store gives it a chilled vibe. (Because all vegans are just hippie tree huggers right?!) It was a little cramped as the parlour is working with a small space and it was quite busy but they have done well considering..and just means they’ll have to open up another one. Maybe even a Vegan ice cream van that parades round the roads of London with sweet melodies and treats? Watch this space!

Prices range from £2.95 to £5.20, toppings 65p each. They also sell a range of healthy drinks in their fridge with seating inside and out.

The Vegan Activist and I slowly melting into a Froyo Coma..
I would most definitely recommend checking this place out! Peace, love and ice cream.
